Chipboard mini albums are always my focus, given that I create them monthly and sell the kits in my shop! ;-) Maybe I should say that they are my first love. No, wait... stamping was my first love. OK, chipboard mini albums are my second love. But hey - don't they say that love is sweeter the second time around?!
Well, even so, I still look to 12x12 layouts for ideas and inspiration. I ran across some school themed layouts and other projects on the 2 Peas blog and thought I'd share a few of my faves. Since I won't be making a school mini album kit this year (at least not for the September release), I want to make sure you've got some great inspiration so you can make your own this go around.
The first is a great take on school scrapbooking: a high school reunion! This page is by 2Peas Design team member Wendy Sue Anderson. I just LOVE the colors on this page! They're pale, but not washed out; pastel, but not childish. The placement and detailing on this layout are perfect, as is the use of black and white photographs. Beautiful!
This next page is by Nancy Damiano, and is more fantastic inspiration! The colors are perfect: subdued in the background so that the photos take center stage, with a pop of red. Love the photo grouping, the titling made with different lettering styles, and the cool flag banner across the bottom. And how about the cute pocket with the note? How cute is that?!
Finally, this last layout is by Jill Sprott. How about those flair buttons for each day of the week?! I like the journaling turned on its side. My favorite part, though, is the title. Love the chipboard newspaper letters and the tiny teal alphas below. Looks like Jill clipped the ends to turn the little letters into tiny penant flags - how clever is that?!
OK - hope this helps with your school scrapbooking. If you just really want a school kit instead of having to design a whole page yourself, I've still got a few school books left from last year's album kit that I re-stocked. Click here to check them out.
